Inaugural Arizona Basketball Raffle Raises $5,100 for Seeds Community Center

November in Tucson means University of Arizona basketball is back in action, and this year, a lucky Seeds Community Center supporter is enjoying season tickets at McKale Center after winning our inaugural basketball raffle.

Congratulations to Sal Cabibo on winning a pair of season tickets (and a parking pass!) for the 2025-26 U of A men’s basketball season.

In total, Wildcat fans purchased 51 raffle tickets at $100 per ticket, bringing in $5,100 to help fund Seeds Community Center’s work with foster-kinship families in Southern Arizona. An anonymous donor gifted the basketball tickets in order to support fundraising efforts.

“Most of our kinship families have prioritized long-term stability for their foster-kinship youth through guardianship or adoption, which is beneficial for the child and family, but it changes their eligibility for community support. Most local nonprofits are only able to serve foster families, so once that status changes, they aren’t eligible for support anymore,” says Christe LePeau, executive director. “Seeds Community Center provides support for kinship families no matter their relationship with the Department of Child Services. We’re excited about an ongoing fundraiser like the Basketball Raffle that will allow us to continue to support our kinship families for years to come, no matter their case plan status.”

The basketball raffle will be an annual fundraiser, so fans who missed out will have another chance in 2026.

“Tucson is a special community where people show up for each other, whether that’s cheering on the Wildcats or supporting families in need,” says Tracy Mueller, president of the board of directors. “We’re proud to call this place home and grateful for the ongoing investment from donors.”
